Robotaxi Trial Service Launched in Kamishihoro, Hokkaido

MoveEz, Inc. launched a Level 2 robotaxi pilot service in Kamishihoro, Hokkaido, on October 2, 2026.
During the trial, the service will operate for Kamishihoro residents from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. Through real-world service operations, we will evaluate both automated driving technologies and operational services toward the realization of fully driverless robotaxis.
In addition to the town’s official app, an AI-powered telephone reservation system has been introduced to make the service more accessible to a wider range of residents and to explore how future mobility services can be made easier for everyone to use.

MoveEz has conducted a series of automated driving trials in Kamishihoro, including long-distance driving over a total route length of 100 km, as well as testing under snowy and icy road conditions. Building on these technical validations, the current trial will also evaluate service workflows, fleet operations, and other operational aspects with the goal of deploying Level 4 automated driving in society by FY2027.

Together with the local community, we will continue working toward sustainable mobility solutions that support people’s everyday transportation needs.
